Ruth Langsford's sister Julia was found hanged in her home

Ruth Langsford's sister Julia Johnson was found hanged at her family home in Surrey earlier this year, an inquest into her death has found.

Ruth's elder sister was found hanged in the garage in June this year.

The 62-year-old's body was discovered by her husband Paul who had been away visiting the couple's daughter, reports Mirror Online.

An inquest into the death of Ruth Langsford's elder sister Julia Johnson has revealed she took her own life at her family home in Lingfield, Surrey earlier this year.

After attempting to contact her multiple times whilst he was away, Mr Johnson became so concerned he cut his trip short and rushed back to their home.

Assistant coroner for Surrey, Anna Crawford, said: "He found his wife hanging in his garage."

She did not leave a note for her family and friends, the inquest was told.

Paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service declared Julia dead at 1.37am on June 16 this year, just two minutes after arriving at the home address.

The coroner, sitting in Woking, Surrey, ruled that Julia's death was suicide after hearing she had been suffering from depression but had been diagnosed as improving greatly by a psychiatrist.

Julia Johnson had suffered with mental health troubles for years but on her last visit to the psychiatrist - before she tragically took her own life - it was decided she was "settled" and her appointments were dropped to every six months.

A post-mortem examination confirmed Julia was not under the influence of any drugs or alcohol at the time of her death.

However, the coroner noted that Julia - who was prescribed a daily antidepressant by her GP - had no trace of the drug in her system.

She said: "It is more likely than not that she was not taking it but it is unknown the effect of that on her mind."

After Julia's death in the summer, Ruth took to twitter and wrote: "My lovely Sis Julia has sadly died after a very long illness.

"My heart is completely broken. She was the kindest and most gentle soul and I will miss her forever.

"As I am sure you will appreciate I need to take time to grieve with my family. Thank you for your understanding."
