Ruth Langsford left speechless over Piers Morgan's cryptic comment as he 'confirms' This Morning feud

Another day, another insight into the rumoured 'feud' happening behind the scenes at ITV.

And again, it's Pier Morgan who is stirring up a little bit of trouble between his co-stars.

The Good Morning Britain presenter came face-to-face with Ruth Langsford as he appeared on Loose Women alongside his co-host Susanna Reid.

Their meeting comes just a week after the 54-year-old presenter seemingly 'confirmed' that Phillip Schofield and Ruth are locked in a bitter backstage feud - mocking This Morning as 'one happy family' following their National Television Award win.

In case you have missed it, rumours of a dispute between ITV hosts Phil and Ruth have been doing the rounds for a while now, with Ruth allegedly making a complaint against her fellow presenter early last year.

And over the months, various comments have been made that reference the alleged tension on set.

So it's no surprise that Piers couldn't help but bring it up on Tuesday while on the Loose Women panel alongside Ruth.

Speaking about celebrities who were nice in showbiz, Piers chimed in: "We all know people who are supposed to be nice in the business, don't we Ruth?"

Ruth the did a wry grin and shook her head, appearing a little uncomfortable by the off-the-cuff comment as the audience laughed and gasped in equal measure.

Susanna also said amongst the chatter: "Ruth is the nicest person in the business."

Laughing hysterically at his own comment he then added: "I wasn't talking about Ruth" as the rest of the panel quickly encouraged him to carry on with his story about Hollywood star Tom Hanks.

But he couldn't quite leave it there as he finished with: "Eamonn [Holmes] would have liked that one though."

Last week, Ruth's husband and presenting partner Eamonn appeared to make his own dig at his fellow telly stars.

Phil himself has already slammed the rumours as 'hurtful and wildly untrue' and ITV have also spoke out in defence of Phil last year, calling the reports "malicious gossip."
