Ruth Langsford left speechless after Piers Morgan makes awkward Phillip Schofield comment amid reports of 'feud'

Ruth Langsford was left red-faced and lost for words on Loose Women after Piers Morgan made a dig about fellow ITV star Phillip Schofield.

Appearing on Loose Women alongside GMB co-star Susanna Reid, the outspoken TV presenter couldn't resist making things awkward for the lunchtime chat show panelist.

While re-telling a story about an encounter with Hollywood actor Tom Hanks, Piers said: "We all know people who are supposed to be nice in the business, don't we Ruth?"

As the camera panned to Ruth, who was clearly speechless, Piers then quipped: "I wasn't talking about Ruth."

It comes after rumours of a feud between Ruth and Phil, following reports of the 59-year-old allegedly filing a complaint against her fellow This Morning host early last year.

The pair's 'dispute' was clear to see during the National Television Awards last week, when Phil asked Ruth to say a few words after This Morning won the gong for Best Live Magazine - for the 10th year running.

While on stage, Phil said to Ruth: "Your Fridays are fantastic, we love you so much. You should say something too, I think."

Ruth, who some viewers say was forcing a smile, said "thank you, thank you" while looking straight forward instead of towards Phil.

The frosty exchanged led many people to suspecting that there was a lot of tension between the two, in the wake of the feud rumours.

And the awkward moment on today's episode of Loose Women didn't go unnoticed by viewers tuning in from home, with many taking to social media to react.
