Ruth Langsford jokingly criticised "meanie" Phillip Schofield after he called out a This Morning camerawoman's unusual belt.

After returning from the ad break, Phil drew attention to camerawoman Catherine as he asked what was "with the trousers".

The camera panned to show her wearing trousers looped with a piece of rope.

As she flushed bright red, so-host Holly Willoughby exclaimed: "She is dying now!"

Phil probed: "So what is this? Are you stockpiling rope?"

Holly retorted: "You don't let anyone get away with anything around here, do you Schofield?"

"Because they don't let me get away with anything!" Phil replied.

The pair then turned to speak to the Loose Women about what was up next on the show.

However Ruth reprimanded Phil for his comments towards Catherine.

She said: "Hello you two! Fancy shaming Catherine like that! Meanies, meanies!

"I think that's a new trend actually, Catherine. The string belt now."

The camera then cut to an embarrassed Catherine once again as he string belt was shown."

"She's really happy you brought it up again," Holly quipped.
