Ruth Langsford has admitted she's been left feeling 'helpless' over husband Eamonn Holmes' health problems with him now on crutches after being struck down by chronic pain.
Last month veteran TV host Eamonn took to Twitter to post about being in hospital after having pain "like I've never experienced in my life," before updating fans a few days later to say: "My pain hasn't gone away but understandably and unluckily for me the professionals who analyse and diagnose are on an Easter break.
"So to everyone, Twitter community, Family and friends who are asking, 'What's wrong?', unfortunately I won't know until the middle of next week."
This Morning viewers raised concerns about Eamonn's condition as he used a walking stick while hosting the show alongside Ruth a few weeks ago and, as her joined her on Wednesday's Loose Women for a special show, Ruth said: "It's a long road but we know that and it's very difficult seeing him in pain, you feel helpless actually."
Eamonn revealed his intense pain was as a result of three slipped discs in his back, explaining: "I've had to come on with a crutch today, that's the way I am at the minute, it's pretty bad.
"I'm having steroid injections and hopefully I'll be on the mend soon."

A few weeks ago Eamonn said he was struggling to sleep because of the constant pain but was happy to report that side of things had improved, adding: ""...we're six weeks down the road now and I've got the injections which has taken away the acute pain and I can sleep and that is a blessing, absolutely great.
"But the physicality of not being able to walk straight, I'm going to embark on a whole rehabilitation programme, I'll get fit, I'll get strong, but it will take a while."
Eamonn's appearance also saw Ruth call him out over a 'lie' to do with their opinion dividing purple sofa from their stint on Celebrity Gogglebox, with Ruth telling co-star Stacey Solomon and her other half Joe Swash: "We, I promise you, I will stand in a court of law and swear on a bible that we chose that sofa together.
"I can take you to the shop and the man who sold it to us and then Eamonn slowly went off it and told everyone who'd listen - 'she chose that. I didn't want purple.'"
