Ruth Langsford calls out This Morning director after 'uncalled for' dig at cameraman

Ruth Langsford called out This Morning's director during Friday's show after he made a comment to one of the cameramen.

Ruth was hosting the ITV daytime show alongside her husband Eamonn Holmes when she couldn't resist scolding a member of the crew for something they'd said.

And as the programme returned after a break, one cameraman experimented with his angles to add some artistic flair to the show.

Graham, on camera one, took a shot of the husband and wife duo through an array of pink flowers in true summer style.

"Ooh that was a lovely shot through the flowers! Thank you Graham on camera one - very artistic!" Ruth commented.

However, Ruth then heard the director make a comment in her ear piece and she wasn't impressed.

"Graham, the director's telling me it was out of focus now. Sorry! I personally thought it was lovely, Graham," she said.

"I thought it was lovely, soft, artistic. I thought that was uncalled for, actually, from the director."

Eamonn then joked: "If I was at a funeral that would be beautiful, it really would be very nice."

"Stop it!" Ruth quickly scolded her 61-year-old husband.

"Graham, it was I thought it was very nice, thank you very much," she reassured the cameraman.

Ruth's comment came after Eamonn accused her of asking a "strange question" at the beginning of Friday's show.

As the ITV daytime show opened at 10am, Ruth turned to her husband and asked him about being a new grandfather.

"How's your first week as Papa Holmes been? Have you got used to it yet?" Ruth asked him.

Ruth told This Morning's director that his comment was 'uncalled for' (ITV)

"No, of course not, I haven't met the child yet," Eamonn replied, with a hint of sarcasm.

"I know, but getting used to the name, people going, 'alright Papa'," Ruth added.

"No," Eamonn answered whilst giggling at his wife, as she said: "It takes a while."

"That's a strange question,' he then told her as Ruth explained: "I just wondered y'know, has it sunk in yet?"

"I wasn't sure what you were getting at with this, but of course it's wonderful, it's beautiful," Eamonn then told her.

Eamonn's son Dylan had welcomed a baby with his wife Jenny earlier this week, and Eamonn announced the news on Tuesday's This Morning.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
