Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes planned to make the most of the warm weather this weekend.
But shortly after they set off for a weekend getaway on Saturday their plans came to a halt when they hit horrendous traffic on the M25.
Eamonn angered to be stuck in his vehicle for hours on end in the sweltering heat, took to Twitter to share how he and his wife's plans were not going how they intended and shared that he should have stayed home and in his garden.
Alongside a snap of the gridlocked traffic, the This Morning star typed: "Why didn't I stay in the back garden? M25. Clockwise from South Mimms Standstill."
An hour later, still not moving ahead on their journey, Eamonn posted: "No movement for at least an hour . If we are hot my concern really goes to the animals in various Horse boxes behind us. This has to be a serious accident that has happened ahead . #M25 Clockwise post South Mimms towards Dartford."
Ruth also took to social media to share her frustration.
Alongside shared a clip of the stopped traffic and penned atop of the footage: "Day out with my beloved….M25 going nowhere. "
It is no surprise that the TV presenting pair were hoping to enjoy the weekend after they returned to This Morning this week.
The married couple previously fronted the beloved ITV show for the weekly Friday instalments but were replaced earlier this year by Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary.
However, Eamonn and Ruth were back this week and they will be hosting the magazine show for the next six weeks.
On their comeback episode on Monday, Ruth and Eamonn quickly back to their usual banter and bickering - and fans loved it.
Viewers of the show were keen to see the married couple return to present the show after a long absence and took to social media to share their appreciation.

One Twitter user commented: "Summer just wouldn't be Summer without Eamonn and Ruth on #ThisMorning . Looking forward to spending the next seven weeks with the king and queen of daytime telly!"
A different This Morning viewer penned: "Good Morning Peeps Happy Monday and a warm welcome back to Eamonn and Ruth for 7 weeks. It's been so long but I'm so glad that you are back where you belong [applause emojis #ThisMorning".
They added: "Oh Ruth and Eamonn I've missed your Bickering it's so good to have it back [laughing emojis, applause emojis] #ThisMorning ".

Meanwhile, another fan of the pair commented: "England might have lost, but Ruth and Eamonn are back …. every cloud [okay hand sign emoji] #ThisMorning ".
Elsewhere, one ITV viewer noted: "I’m beside myself here - it’s only Ruth & Eamonn! It’s been a long time coming, TM is watchable at last. #ThisMorning @RuthieeL @EamonnHolmes ".
Finally, one admirer of Ruth and Eamonn concluded: "So good to see Eamonn & Ruth back on #ThisMorning ".
