Ruth Jones hilariously tells fans off dressed as Nessa during Gavin & Stacey filming

Gavin & Stacey filming caused quite a stir when it returned to Barry Island in Wales this week.

The popular show, which is currently filming a one off Christmas special, brought huge crowds to the filming location.

And things got so excitable that Ruth Jones had to step in as Nessa and quiet everyone down.

On Tuesday afternoon, while still in character, Ruth Jones told fans on the promenade: "We needs you to be quiet now, alrigh'?".

Laying down the law, she said: "You're making far too much noise. You're like a rabble. You're a noisy Barry rabble.

"If you stays quiet during filming I will come out and have photos alrigh'? If you don't - I won't. Simple as. Life is full of choices and this is one you've got to make."

When crowds shouted their agreement with the deal, she offered the standard response: "Crackin'."

The moment was captured on video by a fan of the show from Grangetown, Cardiff.

Stars from the show have been interacting with fans with good humour throughout the production of the Christmas special.

Last week, Ruth Jones was seen giving one Trinity Street resident the  full force of Nessa Shanessa Jenkins' acerbic tongue after daring to mention he'd heard complaints about the production .

James Cordon has been spotted pleading with fans not to get his signature tattooed onto their bodies, an several stars joined a hen party in Cardiff's Tiger Tiger nightclub.

The Christmas special, with Mathew Horne and Joanna Page in the usual title roles, will air on BBC One on Christmas Day.

Filming has been taking place in and around Barry   in the last few weeks and fans have been turning out in their hundreds in a bid to meet the cast.
