The submarine, part of the Pacific Fleet, covertly moved to a designated area before firing a Kalibr cruise missile at a coastal target over 1,100km away at the Kura training ground on the Kamchatka Peninsula.
In a second phase, Krasnoyarsk located and attacked a mock enemy submarine using anti-submarine missiles, hitting the simulated underwater target, according to Russian officials.
The Krasnoyarsk, a Yasen-M class submarine, entered service in December 2023 and is now based in Kamchatka, the ministry's statement said.
