Moscow and Paris have confirmed that they would engage in more dialogue on Syria and other unresolved crises.
At the end of four-way talks in Moscow, France and Russia said that “fighting terrorism is a joint objective in Syria, even if the two sides disagreed on its mechanism.”
French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian and French Defense Minister Florence Parly were in Moscow for talks under the so-called "2+2" format.
Parly expressed “serious concern over the humanitarian situation in Idlib” province.
But Le Drian said: “The time has come, the time is right, to work towards reducing distrust.”
According to Parly, there would be attempts to bridge the differences between the two sides on the situation in Syria.
But she warned again against the Syrian regime crossing the red line in using chemical weapons.
