The editor-in-chief of Parlamentskaya Gazeta (the Parliamentary Newspaper), Pyotr Kotov, has been fired over an article that justified the actions by accomplices of the Nazis during the second world war. Kotov was severely criticised by the leaders of both chambers of the Russian parliament. Sergei Mironov, speaker of the Federation Council upper house, said the views expressed in the article were "ignominious and mean." (Via newswatch.in)
