Police are trying to find a clue behind the death of a Russian who died after falling two stories inside Suvarnabhumi airport's terminal in the early hours of Monday.

Deputy police spokesman Col Krissana Pattanacharoen said on Monday investigators are collecting evidence at the scene and checking CCTV footage to draw conclusions on the death of Mikhail Sinitsyn, 44.

"Police still don't know the reason or motive leading to the death," Col Krissana said.

The Russian was seen climbing over a safety glass wall on the fourth floor of the terminal and falling to the second level at 12.50am, Suvarnabhumi Airport police said. The man was seriously injured and sent to Samittivej Srinakarin Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6am.

He arrived at the airport from Vietnam and passed through the immigration process on Sunday night before walking to the fourth floor, police said.
