Russian ammunition chief ‘killed in car bomb’ outside Moscow

  • Damir Davydov, the head of the Russian defence ministry’s missile and artillery wing, was reportedly killed in a car explosion in Balashikha, Moscow region, with a second car bomb found elsewhere.
  • The EU has proposed a 21st package of sanctions against Russia , heavily targeting its banks, crypto networks, drone production, and oil traders.
  • Ukrainian drones struck a historic museum in Sevastopol, Crimea, and caused fires at industrial facilities in the Vladimir region and a fuel tank in Rostov, while Russia claimed to have downed 326 drones overnight.
  • Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Nordic and Baltic leaders in Estonia to discuss developing cheaper methods for drone defence, offering Ukraine 's expertise.
  • Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk criticised his country's exclusion from Western European peace talks on Ukraine, while the Kremlin dismissed the EU as a mediator.
