A further clamp on journalism has been approved by Russia's parliament as part of wide-ranging measures to fight terrorism. The Duma, in approving the right of the Federal Security Service (FSB) to engage in counter-terrorism operations outside Russia, agreed that the media should be forbidden from publishing any information about such operations that might "threaten peoples' lives and health". Special "emergency" centres will regulate the activities of journalists. (Via easybourse.com)
