Russia has launched a "massive drone strike" on the southern Ukrainian region of Odesa ahead of a meeting of NATO military leaders.
One person has been injured in the attack which caused a large fire at a fuel and energy facility, Ukraine's State Emergency Service said on Wednesday.
Administration of the Izmail district in the Odesa region said on social media that port infrastructure in the city was damaged.
It comes as NATO military leaders are due to meet virtually on Wednesday to explore post-conflict security guarantees for Ukraine, following President Trump’s pledge to help protect the country under any peace deal with Russia.
US Air Force General Alexus Grynkewich, who also oversees NATO operations in Europe, will brief the chiefs of defense on the Alaska meeting between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin last week.
Ukraine and its European allies have been buoyed by Trump's promise during a summit on Monday of security guarantees for Kyiv, but questions remain unanswered.
Officials said that the Pentagon is carrying out planning exercises on the support Washington could offer beyond providing weapons.
But they cautioned that it would take time for US and European planners to determine what would be both militarily feasible and acceptable to the Kremlin.
One option was sending European forces to Ukraine but putting the US in charge of their command and control, two sources claimed. They added that the troops would not be under a NATO banner but operate under their own nations' flags.

The Pentagon and NATO did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the idea.
Russia's Foreign Ministry has ruled out the deployment of troops from NATO countries to help secure a peace deal.

A US official speaking on condition of anonymity said US General Dan Caine, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was expected to attend the meeting on Wednesday.
The official added that Mr Caine would meet with some of his European counterparts in Washington on Tuesday evening.
Trump has pressed for a quick end to Europe's deadliest war in 80 years, and Kyiv and its allies have worried he could seek to force an agreement on Russia's terms after the president last week rolled out the red carpet for Putin.
But the US president has promised that Ukraine will “get a lot of land” as efforts to end Russia’s war intensifies. He said there would be a “form of security” to deter Putin from launching a fresh attack on Russia’s neighbour if a peace deal is reached to end the conflict.

Trump earlier revealed he is making arrangements for a direct meeting between Mr Zelensky and Russia’s President Putin following the “very good” talks at the White House.
Posting on his Truth Social platform after the meeting, Trump described the talks as “very good”, adding: “During the meeting we discussed security guarantees for Ukraine, which guarantees would be provided by the various European countries, with a coordination with the United States of America.
“Everyone is happy about the possibility of PEACE for Russia/Ukraine.
“At the conclusion of the meetings, I called president Putin and began arrangements for a meeting, at a location to be determined, between president Putin and president Zelensky.
“After the meeting takes place, we will have a trilat which would be the two presidents plus myself.”
Meanwhile, Mr Zelensky called the talks “truly a significant step toward ending the war and ensuring the security of Ukraine and our people”.
