CALGARY — Marat Khayrullin scored the only goal of the shootout as Russia downed the Canadian under-20 squad 3-2 on Wednesday at the national teams' development camp.

Mikhail Yuzeev and Alexander Protapovich scored in regulation time for Russia, which got a 23-save outing from Alexander Georgiev.

Spencer Watson and Travis Dermott supplied the scoring for Canada while Josh Ho-Sang picked up an assist on both goals.

Samuel Montembeault turned away 18-of-20 shots for the Canadians, who will host the Czech Republic on Thursday to wrap up the four-game exhibition series between the three countries.

Russia went 0 for 2 on the power play as Canada scored once on four chances with the man advantage.

Canada beat Russia 4-1 on Monday and followed that up by crushing the Czech Republic 7-1 on Tuesday.
