Russia and China unveil rocket launchers holding 24 missiles in huge military drill

Rocket launchers capable of firing 24 missiles before reloading and mine-clearing vehicles were showcased during a huge military drill in Moscow on Friday.

The exercise, aimed at countering the threat of international terrorism, involved the armies of Russia, India, Pakistan and China and is spread around 17 locations.

The video, released by the Zvezda TV channel which is funded by the Russian government, shows several Solntsepyok (Blazing Sun) self-propelled multiple rocket launchers positioning themselves along the road.

The launchers fire off and clouds of grey smoke covers the target area.

Each vehicle can fire up to 24 missiles before reloading.

In separate footage, the army showcases its UR-77 Meteorit (Meteorite) mine-clearing vehicles, also known by the name Zmey Gorynych - called after a fire-breathing, three-headed dragon from Slavic folklore.

They launch long mine-clearing line charges across the field. Once the charges detonate, they set off the mines planted in the area.
