Russell Wilson trained with Serena Williams in Cannes

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has never been one to take it easy during the offseason.

From traveling all over the world, starting new companies, starring in commercials, visiting kids in hospitals and attending award shows, Wilson is a busy, busy man.

He still finds plenty of time to train and make sure he is in shape for the start of the regular season, however, even if his training methods are sometimes a bit … unorthodox.

Recently, Wilson said that he was training with legendary tennis player and seven-time Wimbledon champion Serena Williams.

“We were just in Cannes and I got to train with her actually,” Wilson said in an interview with Access. “We trained together, it was awesome. We’re fired up for her for sure.”

Wilson was at the ESPY awards with his wife, R&B star Ciara, to support Williams, who took home the award for Best Female Tennis Player.

Wilson was not the only Seahawks player at the ESPYs as Shaquill and Shaquem Griffin both attended and promoted their new book “Inseparable”, which came out earlier this week.

Wilson and the Griffin’s will report back for the start of training camp in just under two weeks when the Seahawks take the field on July 25.
