Russell Wilson said that he wasn’t sure if the Seahawks were making him available for trades

Under any realistic scenario, it would be difficult to imagine a trade proposal that could move Russell Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks.

But that doesn’t mean that Wilson himself was willing to definitively say that he’s off the table from the Seahawks’ potential trade talks.

Wilson is under contract with Seattle through the 2023 season, and he’ll be 35 when that contract ends. Yet, having already seen starting quarterbacks go on the move this offseason, Wilson seemingly punted on an opportunity to dismiss the notion of the Seahawks being willing to trade him.

In an interview on The Dan Patrick Show, Wilson said that he believed the Seahawks had received trade calls about him.

Wilson said:

“Yeah, I definitely believe that they’ve gotten calls for sure. I think any time you’re a player that tries to produce every week and have done it consistently, I think that people are going to call for sure. I think it’s part of the process.”

When reminded that he is, well, the Seahawks’ franchise quarterback, Wilson said that his availability was a question for the Seahawks:

“Well, I’m not sure if I’m available or not. That’s a Seahawks question.”

But at The Seattle Times broke down, there’s no real reason to buy into any Wilson trade rumors.
