Russell Wilson No. 25 in NFL Network’s Top 100 list

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson’s peers ranked him No. 25 on NFL Network’s Top 100 Players of 2019 list for his performance in the 2018 season, 14 spots below his placement last year.

This marks Wilson’s seventh career appearance; he was No. 11 in 2018, No. 24 in 2017, No. 17 in 2016, No. 22 in 2015, No. 20 in 2014 and No. 51 in 2013. Wilson is the second Seahawk to land on this year’s list — wide receiver Tyler Lockett came in at No. 98.

During a season when the Seahawks were widely counted out of the playoff race by NFL analysts, Wilson helped them defy the odds with a career year. He threw 35 touchdown passes to only seven interceptions and posted a 110.9 passer rating. He finished with 3,448 passing yards and a 65.6 percent completion rate.

Seattle finished with a 10-6 record and an NFC playoff berth. This offseason, Wilson signed a four-year, $140 million contract extension with the team that made him the highest-paid player in the NFL on a per-year basis.

The five-time Pro Bowl pick looks to improve upon his 2018 season with several key offensive pieces around him.
