Russell Wilson expected to report to start of Seahawks offseason activities

Quarterback Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks have just hours to come to terms on a new contract extension by the April 15 deadline Wilson and his representatives have set.

Should a new deal not be in place, Wilson is still expected to show up for the start of the Seahawks’ offseason workouts, which begin Monday morning.

“If it is not done, then it will be very simple,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said in early April on “Up to the Minute Live.” “He’s going to continue to show up. He’ll go through everything. He’ll go through offseason training, OTAs, minicamp. He’ll show up to training camp on time. Everything will be good.”

Although it appears no new deal has been reached, there is nothing to indicate Wilson’s plans to report to the VMAC have changed.

The Seahawks’ offseason workouts, which are voluntary, will be conducted in three phases. Phase one, which kicks off Monday, will last two weeks and is restricted to strength and conditioning, as well as physical rehabilitation.
