Russell Wilson decided he needed to announce to the world that he would be staying in Seattle for a long time after a self-imposed deadline for a contract extension appeared to pass.
In the middle of the night, Wilson took to Twitter to tell the world he was sticking with the Seahawks after he received a reported $140 million contract extension with a $65 million signing bonus, making him the highest-paid player in the NFL.
And he did it from his bed, with his wife Ciara making a cameo. She appeared happy for her husband, but she also seemed tired (after all, they’re parents of a young child!):
Wilson: “Hey Seattle: We got a deal.”
Ciara: “Go Hawks.”
Wilson: “Go Hawks. But I’m gonna see y’all in the morning. Time for y’all to go to bed.”
Ciara: “Finally we can go to sleep!”
Wilson: “See y’all in the morning.”
