Russell Westbrook’s turnover to seal the Wizards loss perfectly captured their season

As a Wizards fan, this season has been absolutely miserable to watch.

It started with a miserable breakup that we knew was coming but no one wanted to see happen. Then there was a period where the team was only playing with eight players because of the NBA’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols. Then they began to play better and Russell Westbrook started to play up to his standards. Now? They’ve lost four straight.

And no single loss encapsulated their season like their loss to the Kings on Wednesday night.

The Wizards fought their way back into the game after being down by as many as 9 points in the fourth quarter to have a chance to tie things up at the end after De’Aaron Fox hit a jumper over Bradley Beal to give the Kings the lead.

Westbrook was the inbounder. The Wizards really had a chance to salvage this and pull off a comeback win. And then…Westbrook throws the ball out of bounds…to no one. It literally just sails over to the bench. It’s just impossible not to cackle while watching this.

The good homies over at Hoop District hit the nail on the head.

They even threw some Curb Your Enthusiam music over it for the full effect.

The Wizards are cursed.
