Houston Rockets guard Russell Westbrook made history in Monday’s game against his former team with a triple-double line of 32 points, 12 assists, and 11 rebounds.
With Westbrook’s performance versus the Oklahoma City Thunder, who traded him to Houston last July, Westbrook joins LeBron James as just the second player in NBA history to record a triple-double against all 30 franchises.
Westbrook has 146 triple-doubles in his career, compared to 90 for James. That 146 total ranks second in NBA history to Oscar Robertson.
Unlike James, however, Westbrook played the first 11 years of his career with one franchise. Thus, he wasn’t the first to get the complete set.
Unfortunately for Westbrook, Monday’s triple-double came in a 112-107 loss to the Thunder (25-19), which extends the season-long losing streak by the Rockets (26-16) to four games. The Rockets blew a 15-point lead with under 7:00 remaining in the fourth quarter.
