Russell Westbrook is ready to win a title with the Rockets

Russell Westbrook was announced by the Houston Rockets on Friday afternoon weeks after he was traded from Oklahoma City for Chris Paul and draft picks.

Westbrook had spent the entirety of his career with the Thunder, but hasn’t seen an NBA Finals since 2012 when the team still featured Kevin Durant and James Harden.

Harden and Westbrook have a detailed and storied history together, and both feel they have some unfinished business they need to take care of stemming from that 2012 Finals loss to the Miami Heat.

During his introductory press conference, Westbrook said that the team has one goal with the Rockets.

“We both understand that we have one common goal and that’s to win a championship. We understand what we have to do. I’m not worried about it, and I know James isn’t worried about it.”

If Westbrook and Harden are able to bring a title to Houston, it would be the first for the Rockets since 1995.
