Russell Westbrook is clear, only cares about the Houston Rockets

Friday was the day in Houston. The day that the Houston Rockets officially introduced superstar Russell Westbrook to Space City and reintroduce him to old Thunder buddy James Harden.

There was a report that Westbrook essentially forced his way to Houston. Why wouldn’t he? He was teammates with Harden in Oklahoma City and the two have remained close friends. The two have also been at the top of the league in recent years with Westbrook winning MVP in 2017 and Harden winning the following year.

When asked about player empowerment in the league, Westbrook kept it plain and simple. He only cares about one thing and that’s the Rockets.

Westbrook is coming off another amazing season that saw him average 29 points, 11.1 rebounds, and 10.7 assists for his third straight season of averaging a triple-double, but it was not enough as the Thunder were ousted in five games by the Portland Trail Blazers in Round 1 of the postseason.

He now rejoins Harden in Houston where the Rockets were ousted by the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference semifinals despite the absence of Kevin Durant.

With the Warriors now missing Durant permanently and the loss of Klay Thompson for the majority of the season, general manager Daryl Morey struck a deal to bring in Westbrook. The time is now for Houston to reach that coveted NBA title that they so desperately crave.
