Russell Westbrook got into a heated exchange with the Thunder despite being out for Game 4

Rockets guard Russell Westbrook was ruled out for Monday’s Game 4 of the NBA playoffs with a right quad strain, but that didn’t stop him from getting involved with the action.

At a timeout about midway through the first quarter, Westbrook made his way onto the court and shouted at his former Thunder teammates Steven Adams and Dennis Schroder.

It was unclear what prompted the incident. According to ESPN’s Royce Young, the Thunder players appeared to take issue with how close Westbrook was getting to the Thunder bench. Adams and Schroder were the most animated in confronting Westbrook who was separated by officials and staff.

Of course, Westbrook spent six of his 11 seasons in Oklahoma City playing alongside Adams. So, the Thunder big man had no issues with confronting his former teammate.

But the argument didn’t escalate beyond the shouting from across a court.
