Russell Westbrook breaks 407-game turnover streak

Los Angeles Lakers star Russell Westbrook finally accomplished something he has not done in about five seasons: Log zero turnovers for a game.

In Tuesday’s thrilling win against the Sacramento Kings, Westbrook played 34 minutes and didn’t turn the ball over once. Per ESPN Stats & Info, Westbrook had a 407-game streak with at least one turnover committed.

The last time he didn’t turn it over was March 14, 2016. That was the longest streak since turnovers started getting tracked in 1977-78.

It was also the first time since 2013 when Westbrook didn’t turn it over after playing for more than 30 minutes.

Westbrook is tied for second in the league (Luka Doncic) in turnovers per game with 4.6. He had nine in the win against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Brooklyn Nets star James Harden leads the league in the category with 4.9 a contest.
