Russell Martin states Hamza Igamane refused to play for Rangers vs St Mirren

Russell Martin has revealed Hamza Igamane refused to come on for Rangers against St Mirren.

The Ibrox boss wanted to bring on the striker after an hour in Paisley, but the forward stated he was injured and could not be brought on.

Martin made the bombshell admission after the match as he told Sky Sports of the issue in the dugout during the 1-1 draw at the SMiSA Stadium.

"Hamza told me he was injured," said the Rangers boss.

"We had a bid this week for Hamza, we rejected it, all was fine, trained fine yesterday, warmed up fine.

"I turned around to him at 60 minutes because I wanted two strikers on the pitch.

"And Hamza told me he was injured."

Pushed on whether Igamane is simply refusing to play, Martin added: "I have to trust him but we will see."

Martin then admitted there are a number of players considering their future at the club as he demanded players be all in at Rangers.

"The issue is that the transfer window is still open," he said. "There are a lot of people with one eye out the door, one in. We need people to be all in all the time at this football club.

"At the moment, there are still too many people uncertain or still trying to think, 'Maybe there is something there for me'.

"The window needs to shut quickly, in-house we need to make sure we have people who really want to be here.

"We will see. I  am calm about it. Kevin and Patrick are aware about it. We will see where it goes."

Asked whether Igamane has a future at Rangers after the incident, he said: "I can't...it's 15 minutes after the game so I don't know where it goes. We will have to wait and see."
