Russell Martin admits the current transfer window is among the slowest he has ever witnessed as he continues his search to bring more players to Swansea City.
The head coach has already recruited Flynn Downes, Jamie Paterson and Ethan Laird after Kyle Joseph, Joel Piroe and Liam Walsh joined the club earlier in the window.
However, following a significant squad turnover following the conclusion of the 2020/21 campaign, Martin remains eager to further add to his squad.
And the Swans boss says he has spoken to some of his transfer targets over potential moves to the Swansea.com Stadium ahead of Tuesday night's 11pm deadline.
"They’re just ongoing with representatives and Mark [Allen]," said the 35-year-old.
"I’ve spoken to one or two myself. We just have to be as patient as we're asking people and myself to be with the process and the way we're doing things, we have to be patient with that as well unfortunately.
"I'd much rather get it all done and be sat here really happy, but that's not how it works.
"I think this window has been slower than any window I've been involved in so far in my short managerial career.
"Speaking to agents, players and other clubs, I think it’s been the same for everyone. I expect it to come to life in the last week as it always seems to.
"We know where we’re at and we know who we’re in for, why we want them and how they fit in. It’s just a case of getting one or two of them over the line."
Swansea take on Preston at Deepdale this weekend in what will be their final Championship fixture before the first international break of the season.
The Swans were boosted by the returns of defensive duo Kyle Naughton and Ryan Bennett in Tuesday night's 4-1 Carabao Cup second round win over Plymouth Argyle.
And Martin has confirmed Jamie Paterson and captain Matt Grimes will both be available to face the Lilywhites, although Liam Walsh and Korey Smith will both miss out.
"We obviously have Bennett and Naughton back, Paterson and Grimes will be involved on Saturday as they were just rested as a precaution in midweek after playing a lot of minutes," explained the head coach.
"So, they will be fine, we are just waiting for Flynn [Downes] and Ben [Cabango] to come back although they won’t be quite ready for the weekend, but we look forward to working with them soon when they are back.
"Korey and Liam are not far away, and Connor [Roberts] is not far away either."
