Until now, Russell Martin has appeared steadfast in his belief he would get the time he needs to get things right at Rangers. He wasn't so bullish today.
A 2-0 defeat to Hearts at Ibrox means Martin's side has opened the Premiership team without winning any of their first five games. There was an improvement last time out against Celtic but it was a fourth draw and today's defeat makes it four points from five games. Rangers sit 10th in the league.
While admitting he knows results have to improve quickly, the Englishman has always been insistent it will take time to implement his own style and create real change at the club. He seemed confident the club's hierarchy were on the same page on that.
However, he was less forthright on that post-match when asked if that would continue to be the case.
"We'll see," was his to-the-point answer.
Rangers fans chanted "Martin, get to f**k" towards the end of the game, and not for the first time. He insists it doesn't affect him personally but there is an element of professional hurt.
He said: "Personally, no, because I don't know them and they don't know me. Professionally, obviously it hurts a bit because no one sees how hard you work, no one sees the stuff you have to deal with.

"But it is what it is, it's the job of being a football manager. So I want, I want the team to win, we all do, and we'll work as hard as we can to get there.
Hearts were the better team throughout the first half and had a deserved lead at half-time. The home side improved after the break but didn't do enough to get back into it.
Asked to put his finger on what went wrong, the manager added: "Yeah, it was nervous. We we forced the ball too many times through the middle of the pitch early on.
"Then we get punished for that with a goal. And there were too many moments in that first 25 minutes that we gave to them. You know, we gave the ball up too cheap, and then there was a tension. And then the second half, we came out and we should score two or three at that point.
"Hearts didn't get near our goal and I thought if we score, we're going to go on to win the game. But again, the tension, even in the final third in the box, getting in each other's way, hitting the post. Hearts throw bodies everywhere, it's blocks. We have to score when we're in that dominant. And then we're chasing the game and they go and get a penalty.
"So it was very frustrating. I think we're on the receiving end of three tough decisions as well. Our goal's a goal for sure. And I'm pretty sure that Shankland handballs it for their first one."
