Russell Martin rules out MK Dons return for Sunderland striker Will Grigg

MK Dons boss Russell Martin has ruled out bringing former striker Will Grigg back to Stadium MK.

The current Black Cats striker has found life tough since moving to Wearside, but is well thought of at Dons after scoring an impressive 22 goals at the club while on loan from Brentford in 2014/14.

The Dons secured promotion to the Championship that season but a permanent switch to Milton Keynes would never materialise.

The 29-year-old has been linked with a move back to the club on a number of occasions since Martin took over at the club.

However speaking to MKCitizen, Martin said that while they were in search for a striker, they would not be signing Will Grigg.

Martin said: "I think we've been signing for the last three windows.

"We are involved with a lot of players, it's an area we want to strengthen.

"But he's someone else's player so I don't want to talk about him individually.

"But at this minute in time, it's not one I can see happening, no."
