Russell Martin is due to meet with Rangers chiefs this week to give a fresh pitch for the position of manager, it is claimed.
The former Ibrox and Scotland centre-back has been one of the names heavily in the frame to take over at the club, with Steven Gerrard and Davide Ancelotti seemingly his two main competitors.
Doubts over Martin crept in through when it was reported he was a frontrunner for Leicester City should they sack Ruud van Nistelrooy as expected.
However, the Scottish Sun are now reporting Martin will meet with club representatives this week.

It's claimed the 39-year-old is still seen as a live option by key figures at the club and will get the chance to make another pitch.
Martin and other contenders have already spoken to Gers and it's believed he is keen to explore the opportunity despite the Leicester links.
Rangers hope to make a decision by the end of this week.
