Russell Martin has directly responded to reports linking Rangers with a move for Nobel Mendy.
The Ibrox boss spoke to the media this afternoon ahead of his side's game against Alloa Athletic in the Premier Sports Cup tomorrow evening.
Martin was asked about Mendy and whether Rangers hold an interest in the player: "I've never spoken to Nobel Mendy", he simply responded.
The central defender plays his football for Real Betis in Spain's La Liga.

The Rangers Review reported earlier this week that the Ibrox club will pay £2million for Mendy to become their tenth arrival of the summer transfer window.
It is understood that the 20-year-old will sign a long-term deal until the summer of 2029, with an option to extend the move for a further season.
Mendy has set his heart on a move to Glasgow despite interest from Rayo Vallecano.
It comes with Rangers having agreed a £6million deal to sell left-back Jefte to Brazilian giants Palmeiras.
They will make a tidy profit on the 21-year-old, who joined for just £600,000 from APOEL Nicosia last summer.
