Max Aarons was sent off for the visitors just eight minutes in.
Speaking post-match, Martin said [TNT Sports]: "Well, we started terribly.
"We have a man sent off, and it makes a difficult task even more difficult. Then we completely lose our heads before half-time.
"I've nothing to say except to apologise to the fans who have travelled here and back home.
"There's not enough harmony or care for each other quite yet. But we knew that coming in.
"We have to build that with the group somehow.
"There's not enough players that want to fight for each other or the club yet. I'm sure that'll change before the window shuts on Monday."
Rangers return to domestic action this weekend as they welcome Celtic to Ibrox for the first derby clash of the season.
