Russell Crowe vehicle turns out to be a hearse

There is such completely horrid news that Lost in Showbiz will be taking to its bed for the rest of the day. To wit: production on Nottingham - the Ridley Scott movie in which the director planned to give us his Sheriff-sympathetic skew on the Robin Hood Story, and on which Lost in Showbiz slapped the working title "Russell Crowe: Thieftaker" - has been indefinitely postponed.

Cited are "script concerns, location logistics and a potential actors' strike" - which is showbiz for "let's not spend hundreds of millions of dollars on a movie which sounds like it was written as a drunken dare".

Or as the film company puts it, the screenplay "is not yet where the studio and filmmakers want it to be in terms of realizing the full value of the story".

Whatever, it means Russell will now not be giving us his thieftaker, Sienna Miller will not not be giving us her Maid Marian, and Lost in Showbiz will be secluding itself with Prince of Thieves and a bleach daiquiri to numb the pain.
