Hollywood actor Russell Crowe has taken to Twitter to share a video message to the people of St Helens during the coronavirus lockdown.
In an unlikely shout out, the Gladiator star posted a video on behalf of his 'old mate' Johnny Vegas.
The message supports TV star Johnny's food delivery scheme, a volunteer-led programme which takes essential supplies to vulnerable residents and NHS staff in his hometown of St Helens.
In the video message, Russell Crowe said: "Good day folks, how're you doing? This is a message on behalf of my old mate Johnny Vegas.
"If you're in the St Helens area, if you're having trouble getting food deliveries from your local supermarket, if you're NHS staff, key worker, elderly, isolating, vulnerable, call 01744 881881."
He added: "One of the delivery workers is going to be Johnny Vegas though, so expect to lose every second or third biscuit."
Russell then turned the camera to his Bafta and Oscars in the background, put on a British accent and joked: "What's that back there? Oh look at that, that's fancy."
Johnny Vegas added on Twitter: "On behalf of St.Helens, @sthelenscouncil & all voluntary groups involved with #StHelensComeTogether the @EcclestonArms @StevePrescott1 team just wanna say a HUGE thank you @russellcrowe for helping get our message out there #legend. #StayAtHomeandStaySafe."
