Russell Crowe moves into Matt Damon's former home in Dalkey

Russell Crowe is living it up as he has moved into Matt Damon's magnificent Dalkey mansion.

Damon and his family stayed in the five-bedroom mansion at the start of lockdown for €7,000 a week back in 2020. Crowe and his partner Britney Theriot are paying €15,000-a-week to stay in the Georgian house on the Vico Road - so it’s surely only a matter of time before they take a dip in the Vico waters.

The award-winning actor is playing Father Gabriele in The Pope’s Exorcist which is being filmed in Ireland. The character is based on a real-life priest who acted as chief exorcist of the Vatican and performed more than 100,000 exorcisms in his lifetime.

The Irish Independent reported that the Oscar winner filmed several scenes in Trinity College last Wednesday, wearing black religious clothes. Crowe’s girlfriend Britney has also been seen working on the film.

According to its property description, it states: “Live amongst the stars with Bono, Van Morrison and The Edge in the celebrity enclave of Dalkey. 'Ischia', a unique, stunningly beautiful home is located on the Sorrento Road within a stone's throw of the sea and the beautiful Killiney Bay.

“You can take a stroll down to Dalkey village, which has an array of wonderful restaurants, cafes, pubs and bars... We are delighted to bring 'Ischia' to the market for short term letting (minimum stay three nights).”

Renters can enjoy a sauna, jacuzzi and plunge pool. The games room opens onto the external pool area, which houses a bar counter and snooker table. There is timber decking with extensive seating and barbecue area surrounding the flood lit heated swimming pool. The upstairs accommodation opens onto a wonderful living area with panoramic sea views.

The property is fully alarmed. There is gas fired central heating, and ample parking. The house is approached through high electric gates off a shared private driveway.

“The beaches of White Rock and Killiney, a number of parks, wonderful restaurants, cafes and bars are all in close proximity. Dalkey is serviced by excellent transport links, including the DART, and M50 which is a short drive away. There are also several bus services to the City Centre, and the Aircoach which travels directly to Dublin Airport. Rent includes TV and internet broadband, gas and electricity and water and waste charges. There is a €200 end of stay cleaning fee,” added the property description.
