Russell Brand embarrasses himself in painful interview with Piers Morgan as the two men sit in silence for a full 90 seconds

Unfortunately it seems Russell Brand has crawled out of whatever hole he was hiding in for a last ditch attempt at saving his career. The disgraced British comedian has been making the rounds on podcasts, internet talk shows, and basically anywhere that’ll have him but his latest appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored saw Brand humiliated by the host after Morgan asked him to find a Bible passage.

Piers Morgan grilled his guest on Friday covering the rape allegations made against Brand as well as his recent admission that he had slept with a 16-year-old at the age of 30. For much of the nearly 2-hour interview Brand deflected many of Morgan’s questions, avoiding answers and talking a lot of hot air about circling back to Christianity and his newfound devotion to religion.

At one point Morgan begins drilling Brand on his religion, asking him “what kind of Christian are you?” The former comedian does his best to avoid answering. Then the host turns his attention to the Bible which Brand had brought with him to the show. “Can I go back to asking you a question about your bible?” he asks Brand. The guest seems to answer in a slightly frustrated tone, “yes, if you want to,” before Piers quizzes him on the passages he read out during his trial.

Brand claimed that the Bible was “the very one” he had taken into court Yet, when asked to find one of the passages he had read from during his appearance in court, he could not do it. Morgan and Brand sit in awkward silence while the latter flips through the pages and mutters to himself. The silence continues for a full 90 seconds before he cracks and settles on a random passage.

Russell Brand is nothing more than a grifter

When the allegations against Russell Brand first came to light the comedian conveniently found God and started his hard-right grifting. Suddenly he was appearing alongside the likes of Andrew Tate while cheering for Donald Trump. His newfound devotion to God was a big part of his defense against the allegations, like he thought his religious right-wing buddies would protect him.

Of course, Brand would likely tell you that it’s not a grift but that awkward 90-seconds of silence says otherwise. As the comedian flips through the pages it comes across like he’s never even opened that book in his life. To him it’s just a prop. Despite supposedly being a devout Christian now he can’t even find a single passage from the Bible.

The moment has since gone viral with clips being shared everywhere. Morgan didn’t even have to do anything to prove his point, just sitting back and letting Brand humiliate himself. “This was the best comedy Russell’s done in years,” one commenter on YouTube quipped and we have to agree, the awkward moment shows Brand as the grifter and fool that he really is.
