The Arsenal legend, 57, was banned for six months after he was caught speeding on one of his beloved Triumphs.
He was clocked at 69mph in a 40mph zone while riding through traffic in Twickenham last August.
Wright, who won 33 England caps and scored 313 goals during his glittering playing career, has an MBE for services to football and is now a regular BBC Match of the Day pundit.
He talked about his passion for motorbikes in 2018, during a tour for Triumph of London stadiums he played at including Highbury and Wembley.
“I didn’t realise I loved motorbikes until the first time I got on one, and I remember riding from Croydon to Brighton in convoy,” he said. “What I loved about being on the bike is the fact you could be with loads of people but still you had your own space and your own time.”
According to court papers obtained by the Evening Standard, Wright was given a six-month driving ban on March 29.
He was also fined £1,000 and ordered to pay £190 in court costs and fees.
He had been caught by a speed camera while riding his Triumph along the A316 Chertsey Road at 7.14am on August 4 last year and received a letter of intended prosecution through the post.
He wrote back to Lavender Hill magistrates to plead guilty.
Wright was spared a court hearing, as his case was dealt with behind closed doors through the Single Justice Procedure. The court refused to reveal if Wright had offered any mitigation before sentencing, or if he had any points on his licence prior to the speeding offence.
