Rush hour chaos at Leeds Station due to broken down Skipton train

A broken down train outside Skipton station is causing problems for some commuters in Leeds.

Trains from Leeds to Skipton and Bradford Forster Square are facing big delays due to the technical issue. Trains to and from Ilkley are also likely to suffer delays as a result.

A commuter who got in touch with LeedsLive described the situation at Leeds Station as "chaos."

A statement from Northern Rail says: "Due to a broken down train outside of Skipton, train services between Leeds, Skipton and Bradford Forster Square are being disrupted."

Road transport is being organised between Shipley and Skipton, although Northern Rail have stressed that journey times will take significantly longer than normal.
