Eighteen businesses in Gwynedd have come together to promote local Christmas shopping this year.
A brand new gift voucher scheme is in place so people can choose from an array of local experiences and produce in Penrhyndeudraeth and the surrounding area.
The scheme is run by the Byw.Bod, a new website launched last spring to promote independent businesses in the area.
Now, shops, cafes, jam and cake makers, local farmers as well as instructors in language, wellbeing and adventure activities have teamed up across Penrhyndeudraeth, Llanfrothen, Croesor and Blaenau Ffestiniog to encourage people to support local businesses this Christmas.
Byw. Bod founder Llinos Griffin said: “This year has really shown us all how important it is to support small independent businesses who are the backbone of our communities.
"The voucher truly offers something special and shows how diverse our area is in talent and business.
"The great thing is that the token can go towards anything from a weekly shop to a burger or some delicious cupcakes, from a Welsh language or well-being session to a farm or nature walk.”
Nia Roberts from Siop y Gloddfa in Blaenau Ffestiniog said: “It may be particularly hard this year for people to go out shopping due to Covid restrictions and self-isolation, the gift voucher is ideal as it it’s a one-stop shop if you like and it offers something for everyone.”
