RuPaul's Drag Race UK returns with a new batch of queens

The time has come for us to lipsync for our lives once again as the third season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK hits our screens tonight.

It’s not even been a year since we were graced with the presence of season two, but a whole new batch of queens are ready to entertain us with their charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and, of course, talent.

There’s the likes of Kitty Scott-Claus from Birmingham, Choriza May from Newcastle and London queens Vanity Milan and Scarlett Harlett.

The series will also feature Drag Race's first ever female drag queen in the form of Cardiff's Victoria Scone.

There’s also three queens representing the North West with one of them being a familiar face to fans of the show.

Season two contestant Veronica Green, originally from Rochdale, is returning to the show after having to drop out of the competition due to catching coronavirus.

“I’m having the time of my life all over again," Veronica says of being given the chance to return for season three.

"What was great on season two is that I was one of a kind and really stood out, so I’m hoping to continue that.”

Charity Kase, 24, from Rufford in Lancashire, is, meanwhile, hoping to bring a form of alternative drag to the main stage.

"I’m a massive sci-fi nerd for anything based outside of this reality," she says.

"I’m hoping to inspire a whole new generation of fantastical mythical creatures to take over drag stages all around the country!”

Last to represent the north is Elektra Fence, 29, from Burnley.

Elektra says she is “death defying, electrifying and just up for a good time!".

"I'm playful, i'm fun, I’m ready," she adds.

"I’m the Pocket Rocket of drag."

Season three also returns with a line-up of famous faces gracing the judging panel including Oti Mabuse, Matt Lucas, Emma Bunton, Lulu, Alesha Dixon and Judi Love.

RuPaul's Drag Race UK airs on BBC Three via BBC iPlayer. New episodes every Thursday at 7pm.
