RuPaul's Drag Race announces Newcastle date on new Series Four tour bringing all 12 stars

Stars of RuPaul’s Drag Race will be coming to Newcastle early next summer as part of their official season four tour it has been announced.

News of the upcoming tour was revealed this Monday morning and, in another boost for local fans of the reality TV extravaganza, it will include a second North East date, in Stockton. The tour is due to get under way in the spring with all the UK show stars set to 'werk' their way to theatres and arenas across the UK - and our region is in for an "endless extravaganza" said a spokesperson.

It will last for two days anyway, which will see drag royalty appear first at Stockton Globe on Saturday, April 22. They then will shimmy north to Newcastle for a show back at the O2 City Hall - where season three stopped off in September - on Thursday, May 4.

The spokesperson added that it will feature all 12 queens from series four of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK which, based on the American series, has become a huge hit. The new tour follows two previous successes which have seen fans turn out in their droves countrywide to enjoy the glittering production.

Just this September, Newcastle welcomed the series three stars who included the city's own Choriza May. Our reviewer summed up the night at the City Hall as "fun, fierce and full of finesse".

The winner and top two finalists of series four have yet to be announced so all the stars will be enjoying their share of the spotlight. The 12 are Baby, Black Peppa, Cheddar Gorgeous, Copper Top, Dakota Schiffer, Danny Beard, Jonbers Blonde, Just May, Le Fil, Pixie Polite, Sminty Drop and Starlet.

Ben Hatton, director of touring theatre for live events company Cuffe and Taylor, said: “We are delighted to be presenting our third live tour of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK. It is a show that is outrageous and exciting in equal measures and audiences just absolutely love it."

He added that fans should "get ready for a completely laugh out loud evening of no-holds-barred entertainment.” Tickets for the new tour will go on sale at 10am on Friday, November 4: keep an eye out here. These are the full spring-summer tour dates.
