RuPaul's Drag Race and YouTube star Todrick Hall to play Billy Flynn in Chicago

American Idol star, YouTuber and RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Todrick Hall is set to take over the role of Billy Flynn in Chicago on the West End.

He takes up the role of the slippery defence lawyer on November 19 at the Phoenix Theatre when Duncan James ends his run. So far, the part has also been played by Martin Kemp and Cuba Gooding Jr.

He joins Sarah Soetaert as Roxie Hart, Josefina Gabrielle as Velma Kelly and Mazz Murray as Mama Morton, having played the role of Billy Flynn on Broadway.

Hall first rose to fame on the ninth series of American Idol, going on to have nearly three million subscribers on YouTube. He has judged RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars 2.

Chicago returned to the West End in March following a five and a half year absence. During its original 15 year stint in London, it was the longest running revival in the West End, and is the world’s longest American musical.
