Running blog: how was your weekend running?

In the last week I've managed two PBs and today I'm off on holiday. So apologies if I'm a bit smug (if I throw in a reference to an injury or two, would that make it a #humbleblog?). Yesterday I did the Capital Runners 10km at Bushy park in south-west London. Flat as a pancake, mixed terrain and over a minute off that PB, down to 41 minutes dead. In fact, of the six runners from my club, five of us got PBs and the only one who didn't finished second overall, so a good day for the Windmilers. We even scooped the women's team prize – which consisted of booze. An excellent form of post-race rehydration …

For me, it's a marker on the way to my big autumn race (the Royal Parks half marathon in October), and a good sign. I'm not sure what it was for the chap who finished in roughly an hour wearing a massive army-issue rucksack and 18-hole leather boots, but I think he definitely deserved a drink or seven. Wearing that kit I wouldn't have managed to get to the race on a bus, let alone run around it. Still, he probably had a more cheerful day than the deer in Bushy park – their cull starts today.

So, what did the weekend bring you? Sunshine, PBs and celebratory booze all round, I hope.
