Running blog: how was your weekend running?

I'm writing this on a sunny Sunday night, the end of a rare weekend balmy enough for dinner in the garden and perhaps a glass of something chilled. Instead, I just downed a shot of beetroot juice and am wondering how soon I should go bed. Yes, it's a pre-race evening, complete with slightly twitchy nerves and a niggle in every muscle each time I move. By the time you read this, I'll be one of the 10,000-odd people taking part in the Bupa London 10k. Are you taking part? Or did you race the inaugural Westminster mile yesterday?

Or perhaps you were one of the 30,000 runners in the UK's fastest marathon, in Edinburgh? Japhet Koech, whom my co-editor Adharanand Finn wrote of last week, just about made it to the UK in time, and finished fifth – more on that later this week.

So whether you are racing today (good luck!) or resting from yesterday (well run) – or just topping up your vitamin D levels, come tell us about your weekend running below the line.
