Running back Brandon Bolden set to return to Patriots

Oh, Brandon Bolden. We hardly knew ye. Running back Brandon Bolden spent all of last season on the Dolphins roster after spending the first six seasons of his NFL career in New England. He’ll spend his eighth season in the league back in Foxboro.

Bolden and the Patriots have agreed in principle on a 2-year deal to bring the 29-year old back to New England after logging just 11 touches during the 2018 NFL season.

Bolden’s brief stint in Miami will best be remembered by fans for the role he played in the now infamous Miami Miracle contest. Bolden rushed twice against his former team, logging 60 yards and two touchdowns in Miami’s thrilling 34-33 victory.

In a time in which we are seeing former Patriots flirt (Trey Flowers) or flock to Miami (Dwayne Allen, Eric Rowe), it’s certainly odd timing to see one reverse course.

Fortunately for Miami, if there’s one skill position the team can afford to lose some talent, it’s their gifted stable of running backs.
