Runners tackle first ever Cally Wood Bluebell Run in Gatehouse of Fleet

Twenty-two runners tackled the first ever Cally Wood Bluebell Run on Sunday.

The 10k race provided runners with a testing route while allowing them to enjoy the exceptional display of bluebells.

First back was Ross Gibson in a time of 53 minutes 34 seconds – nearly two minutes clear of runner-up Lewis Black. Colin Hood was third

The battle for the women’s race was much closer, Alexandrea Gonzales taking the spoils with a time of 58 minutes 18 seconds, just three seconds ahead of Shana Stitt.

Third place went to Emmanuelle Prieu.

Thanks go to Gatehouse Community Council and Fleet Star for their support.

The race was an introduction to trail racing in the area and there are plans to build more of these type of events over the next few months.
