Runners set to travel across the country to take part in the HamilTEN 10k

Runners will travel from across the country to take part in Hamilton’s huge sporting event next month.

There is just less than four weeks to go until Hamilton town centre is awash with eager running ready to take part in the HamilTEN 10k.

Organisers of the event say the event is filling up.

Race organiser and Hamilton Business Improvement District (BID) manager Gareth Walker said: “ I am pleased to see that we are attracting entries from across Scotland and that the number of entries is steadily increasing every day.

“ It’s also great to see so many people who ran last year getting involved again.

“ I’ve been to a few of the local Parkruns over the last few weeks and have been encouraged to speak to so many runners who have already signed up. I’ve also had a number of charities like Covey Befriending and NSPCC/ Childline contact me to see how they can get involved.

“They are looking to enter teams and raise some funds to support their work.

“We will once again be bringing in our stage so that we can entertain family members with live music while the run is taking place.

“With a month left to go there is still plenty of time to enter, so why not take the plunge and join us on the day.”

The HamilTEN event will be held on Saturday, September 21, and returns to the town for a second year running.
